The Golden Eagles finished their season this afternoon at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship against Oklahoma Baptist. The game went into double overtime with a score of 1-1 before finally being decided with penalty kicks.

The first half of the game neither team was able to make a goal, though OBU had nine shots compared to JBU’s four. The Bisons also had four corner kicks. Pablo Garcia had five saves in the first half.

Possession of the ball mainly stayed in the middle of the field crossing more often onto JBU’s side.

Both teams came into the second half much more aggressive than they had played in the first half with JBU players receiving two yellow cards and an OBU player receiving a yellow card at the end of the half. The teams totaled seven fouls together.

Within the first ten minutes of the second half, OBU had scored a goal directly off of a corner kick. JBU sophomore Daniel Forry responded with a goal few minutes after.

The rest of the half both teams tried to put another on the board with seven shots from the Bison and nine from the Golden Eagles but were unable to change the score.

The game was forced into overtime. In the first overtime JBU was unable to make a single shot while OBU had four, all of which went high or wide.

Sophomore Martin Gonzales started the second overtime with a shot on OBU’s goal that went wide followed by a save by Garcia.

Gonzales ended the second half with another shot on OBU’s goal that also went wide.

The game then ended in a shootout. OBU made all four shots while two of JBU’s shooters missed their final two shots.
