Eagles trump Crowley’s Ridge, fall to MNU

The Lady Eagles played their second game on Saturday in Bill George Arena against Crowley’s Ridge. JBU swept the game with a 97-38 victory.

Senior Kortni Barenberg scored 22 of the 97 Golden Eagle points, setting a career-high for herself.

Barenberg scored the first JBU basket, to which Crowley’s Ridge met almost immediately after.

The score remained within three points of each other, Crowley’s Ridge attempting to keep up with the Golden Eagles up until there was about 14 minutes left in the game, when Barenberg netted a 3-point basket, setting the score 8-12. From that point on, Crowley’s Ridge failed to keep up.

By the start of the second half, the score was 18-39, JBU.

Barenberg once again made the first basket of the half, followed by a 3-pointer from senior Sierra Shipley.

With 14:11 left in the game, the score was 25-54 after junior Lauren Rogers made a JBU 3-point basket.

The final Golden Eagle basket was a 3-pointer made with 28 seconds left in the game by freshman Taylor Lee.

The team then fell to MidAmerica Nazarene University on Tuesday. The final score was 59-50, MNU.
