The Lady Eagles will face Oklahoma Baptist tonight after disheartening first weekend of conference play that left them with three losses.

OBU has a season record of 17-3 and a Sooner Athletic Conference of 2-0.

Oklahoma Baptist and Lubbock Christian (Texas) are currently the only two teams in the SAC without any conference losses.

OBU players also lead the conference in kills assists and digs.

Their current offensive leader is Kristin Pressley with 284 total kills this season followed by Skyler Strahm follows her with 189.

Strahm is also their leading blocker with 50 total blocks followed by Tarah Derden with 38 blocks.

Defensively, Gabby Samuels leads in digs with 318 total digs with Pressely bringing 231 to the Lady Bison.

After their game against Lubbock, their assistant coach Heather Witham said the team’s hitting was off and they defense “acted afraid.”

The Lady Eagles also faced nine attack errors, allowing the Lady Chaparrals to take the first set.

The Lady Eagles went on to lose against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) from the Red River Conference, and Wayland Baptist (Texas).

The loss against Wayland, another SAC rival, came from three very close sets that all ended with WBU wins. Wayland did slightly out-perform the Lady Eagles in the amount of kills, digs and blocks.

JBU is currently sitting at 16-6 with two conference losses, putting it at the bottom of the SAC along with St. Gregory (Okla.), who they will face on Saturday.

Senior Erin Dider leads the team with 296 followed by freshman Audrey Dearien with 289.

Libero sophomore Becca Young leads in digs with 285 with Dider with 223.

The Lady Eagles will take on OBU tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Bill George Arena.
