Guatemala Water Project

Loading

Water is essential and so common here in the United States. However, clean water can change someone´s life in developing countries. In Guatemala, approximately half of its population lives in poverty. Among the many challenges that poverty brings is one of the greatest challenges: access to clean water. Not having access to clean water brings illness—and often death—to the people of Guatemala.

The Guatemala Water Project is a sustainable project that seeks to create jobs and improve the quality of life through implementing a water store that offers affordable clean water. The GWP partners with Healing Waters and Compassion International to find communities in desperate need of clean water. We do extensive research and site assessments to ensure optimal results. We install wells if needed, provide modified filtration systems, conduct site development, business training, and even health and hygiene classes.

As of now we have completed six water projects in six different communities, positively impacting at least 300 people at each one, producing over 280,000 gallons of clean water per year. We are currently working on our seventh project in Chiquix, Guatemala and seek to continue to create jobs and provide a sustainable solution to the water crisis.

God says to “love your neighbor as yourself,” and Guatemala needs your kindness, so let´s share and be part of it!

Join us in creating change by being a part of the first annual Virtual Water Race! It will take place Nov. 27th-29th. Sign-ups will be available soon. All proceeds will go directly to funding the current water project in Chiquix. For more info, visit our Instagram page @guatewaterprojectjbu !
