Jade Choppola joined the Golden Eagles family and is now a Global Environment of Business professor and the Enactus advisor. Choppola was born and raised in Mountain View, Arkansas. Her background consists of Native American, Okinawan, and Mongolian roots.
With an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and International Economics, Choppola revealed that her calling for coming to John Brown was for a specific purpose: to serve the students and the college body, to love fully, and hope to shed light on cultural differences and why that makes the world so beautiful. While completing her master’s degree in Business Administration, she got the chance to live in China for three years and connect with the culture and people.
As the new advisor of the Enactus program, a student-led club, Choppola is looking forward to enacting some social change and impact for people that are in need. Choppola shared that Enactus is currently focused on developing clean energy projects. She stated, “I can’t wait to experience that and see someone’s face light up, that we are hopefully doing all this hard work and setting a foundation for us to move forward and start executing projects that help other people’s lives and make the difference whether that is clean water or domestic violence education.” Choppola mentioned that her favorite part about teaching is “The student interaction and getting to know them. I might be able to spread that growth mindset and work with each student and get to know them a little bit more personally. I think that is special about John Brown University.”
Choppola is currently leading her church community group and discipleship for women. She advises, “Whatever we are suffering or feeling, take it to the Lord. He loves us, and he will provide for you, even if it is something that you are not getting that you want, his will and what he wants for your life is just more important than what you want for your life.”
