Kelsey Daugherty is the president of SGA

What is your role?

“As one of the main contacts for students and as a spokesperson for SGA, I preside at meetings. Also present to various groups around campus such as the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Board, and Parent’s council. The biggest part of my job is facilitating the work of the Senators and other Officers as they complete projects, whether that is emailing the right people, going to meet with someone, or just offering some words of encouragement.”

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

“This year I would really like to improve SGA and make sure we are being effective in our role on campus. SGA is here for the students and we want to spend our time doing the things they want to see around campus, so letting students know that they can come to us is another very important goal.”

Elizabeth Mathers is the vice president of elections and legislation.

What is your role?

“I work with setting up elections for SGA. I also run the elections for Homecoming court and Mr. and Miss JBU for the Junior/senior banquet in the spring. I update and keep the constitution and I make sure the legislation is according to parliamentary procedure and is beneficial for both SGA and JBU as a whole. I also work with anything that the senate is doing, such as projects and events.”

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

“This year one of my main goals is to make SGA a bigger force on campus because in the past, SGA wasn’t very well known. I want to really focus on hearing what the students want to see on campus and working with those ideas to make campus a better place for everyone.”

Jeremy Enders is the vice president of communications.

What is your role?

“I handle most of the broader communicating between SGA and the student body. This means I do posters, the Facebook, Twitter, the beloved Toilet Paper, videos, Threefold articles, and anything else that has to do with communicating with and to the general student body. In short, I am the voice and PR guy of SGA.”

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

“In the past, SGA has exactly been known for communicating well with students We have always been very productive and active, students just haven’t been shown or told what we do and thus, no fault to them, don’t understand SGA. My goal is to fix that. This year you will see an entirely new, much more extroverted, outgoing SGA that has a personality and communicates clearly.”

Ginger Macfarlan is the vice president of finance and administration.

What is your role?

“Basically, I keep track of the budget and take notes at our meetings. But all of us in SGA get to participate in bouncing around ideas for campus and fielding project ideas from fellow students.”

What is one thing you hope to accomplish?

“I’m excited to build a strong SGA team that the student body sees as accessible and approachable. We’re here for all of you!”
