Lady Eagles get ready to face SAC conference rivals

The Lady Eagles are set to face Mid-America Christian Oklahoma tonight on the road before coming home this weekend for Homecoming against Oklahoma City and a non-conference game against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.).

JBU and MACU have the same conference record of 1-3, giving them a conference tie along with Oklahoma City. The Lady Eagles hold an overall record of 17-7 while the Lady Evangels sit at 12-6 overall.

MACU lost their last two games to the two Texas teams, Lubbock Christian and Wayland Baptist. JBU also lost their matches to these teams earlier this season.

Becca Anderson leads the Lady Evangels in kills with an average of 2.1 kills per game and 137 total. She is followed by Rene’ Crokett averaging 1.8 per game with a total of 115.

JBU’s offensive efforts are led by freshman Audrey Dearien and senior Erin Didier, both averaging 3.6 kills per game. They have 305 and 309 total kills respectively.

Defensively JBU’s performance is stronger. Sophomore Libero Becca Young has an average of 3.6 digs per game and 311 total. Junior Erin Dider has an average of 2.8 with 240 total.

For MACU, Taryn Walker has 2.6 digs per game with 165 total. Montgomery has 2.4 per game and 156 total.

The Lady Evangels has better blocking record than the Lady Eagles. For MACU, Anderson leading in blocks per game with 1.6 followed by Kacee Montgomery with 1.4 per game. JBU’s leading blockers are junior Erin McIlroy and freshman Libby Blasingame.

After facing the Lady Evangels in Oklahoma City, JBU will come home to take on the Oklahoma City Lady Stars.

Meghan Irwin is the Lady Stars offensive leader with 269 kills and averages 2.9 per game. Rachel Gabel follows her with 189 total kills and 2.2 per game. Defensively Danielle Robinson leads OCU with 4.2 digs per game and 377 total. Hannah Mitcham follows with 2.5 per game and 228 total.

The Lady Eagles will take on MACU tonight at 7 p.m. and they will play OCU at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bill George Arena.
