In a demonstration of creativity and fellowship, students enjoyed the first event of the semester organized by Student Events and Activities (SEA), Bob Ross Painting Night. At the event, students welcomed the new semester by having a fun time showing their artistic skills in the Walker Student Center.
Students had the opportunity to create their own works of art using materials provided by SEA as they followed the famous Bob Ross tutorials. From landscapes to abstract compositions, all people that attended were encouraged to show off their talent, but mostly to have a fun evening.
Sophomore Adriana Abarca shared that the activity was very engaging.
“We were all working on the same thing, but at the end, each one of us had a different painting style, it was cool to see other people’s composition,” Abarca said.
Students who joined in on the event talked well about the event and how different it was from other SEA activities.
“It felt like a very artistic environment, it was my first time experiencing that type of activity,” Abarca said.
Junior Daniela Gomez also shared her experience attending.
“It was a fun way to distract yourself and have a good time,” Gomez said.
Snacks were part of the event as well and students were invited to enjoy cheese and cider while following the tutorials.
“I liked the food as well, I enjoyed it not only with my friends but also with new people I met,” Gomez said.
By providing a way for students to relax after the first weeks of classes, the event proved to be a success in allowing them the opportunity to recharge for continuing classes.
