Christians around the world commemorated Holy Week, marking the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The week is a heart-rending reminder of God’s immense faithfulness and sacrificial love for humanity. The events leading up to Holy Week reveal the depth of God’s devotion to His people. The clearest action He did for us, considering he spoke in parables was dying for us. However, God’s fidelity is not confined to just this celebratory period, but rather extends eternally throughout all seasons and circumstances.

The Bible overflows with stories and affirmation if the Lord’s unfailing, everlasting commitment to those who love Him. In Lamentations 3:22-23 it states “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” No matter our trials, we can trust God’s renewing mercies day after day.

Walking in the footsteps of God’s fidelity is a journey marked by reverence, resilience and unwavering trust. It is often said that following His path is easier said than done, and yes, life either brings us immense sadness or never-ending happiness. Especially during Holy Week, when we reflect on the profound sacrifice and enduring love demonstrated by God, the weight of His fidelity becomes more apparent.

It is an everyday challenge to learn on how to fully rely on God and not lean on our understanding. To walk in His fidelity is to embrace commitment beyond words, beyond fleeting moments of inspiration. From what I’ve learned, a steadfast dedication is required to live out His teachings, even when the world might be doing the opposite, one does not belong to the world as said in John 15:19-22. It’s a daily practice of surrendering our will to His, knowing and trusting that His guidance will lead us through every trial and triumph.

Ultimately, Holy Week occupies a special place of reverence. We must appreciate that God’s faithfulness goes beyond a designated time, that’s why He gave up His son, for His fidelity and love to last all eternity. We are never alone, His steadfastness endures not only during Holy Week but forever, offering us strength, solace and the promise of eternal grace. Psalms 89:1-2 emphasizes this, “I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever…for I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.” No matter how much we try to run from Him, our purpose was to be found by Him, so walk boldly with faith, in light and with confidence always.
