“Reimagining Faith and Public Life”: Hall and McKenzie Discuss Faith and Politics in the American Founding

On Thursday, Sept. 14, John Brown University’s (JBU) Center for Faith and Flourishing hosted the 7th annual Reimagining Faith and the Public Life event. Mark David Hall, at Regent University, and Robert Tracy McKenzie, professor of history at Wheaton College were invited to speak at this year’s event. They participated in a discussion — mediated by Daniel Bennett, associate professor of political science at JBU — offering opposing viewpoints on the impact of Christianity on the American founding.

John Brown welcomes Reverend Curtiss P. Smith for Spiritual Emphasis Week

John Brown University students participated in Spiritual Emphasis Week, taking place from Sept. 5 to Sept. 7, by hearing from Chapel guest speaker, the Rev. Curtiss Smith. Throughout the week, Smith delivered messages on spiritual growth and maturity. Every semester, Spiritual Emphasis Week offers an additional chapel service on Wednesday that works along an adjusted class schedule so that all of JBU can attend the service.
