“Love goes through the stomach”:  International Food Festival

Distinguished for its diverse student body, John Brown University hosted the highly anticipated International Food Festival on Wednesday, Nov. 8, an event that enthusiastically brings together JBU students from across the globe to honor their countries. The Council for International Friendship (CIF) was responsible for the organization of the event that took place in Simmons Great Hall. They invited students from 19 different nations to cook food for other JBU students and faculty.

John Brown University students attended the annual Breakaway Retreat Sept. 23-24, at New Life Ranch Flint Valley in Northeast Oklahoma. Members of the Student Ministries Leadership Team (SMLT) were responsible for organizing a weekend for students to rest, worship and share a fun day with friends.

The New Caf: What has changed, what remains the same, and what is to come

During 10 years, Creative Dining Services fulfilled the dining and catering needs of the John Brown University community. However, on May 15, Fresh Ideas Food Service Management started providing JBU’s dining and catering. As part of this fresh start, the company opted for a modern appearance introducing freshly painted walls and brand-new booths to take over the dining hall, lovingly referred to by students as the “caf. With the start of this academic year, the newly transformed dining hall has finally been unveiled to welcome both JBU staff and students alike. Those with a keen eye will notice, however, that the changes extend beyond just surface-level aesthetics.
