On Saturday Jan.14 in Bill George Arena at John Brown University, JBU Athletics hosted a barefoot dance party, where students could come together and dance on the gym floor after the basketball game.
The event was held in the spacious basketball arena, which provided room for students to move and groove to the beat of music. The arena was transformed into a dance floor, with colorful lighting and great choice of songs. JBU Athletics had thoughtfully chosen to have the party barefoot to allow the students to feel connected to the earth as well as protect the gym floor from damage.
As students arrived at the arena, they were greeted with a lively atmosphere and the sound of music filling the air. The mood was set for a fun-filled evening, and students could feel the excitement building. According to senior Luis Galvez, “the music was a mix of popular songs from different genres,” ensuring that there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The students were free to dance and move to the music as they pleased, and many took advantage of the open space to show their moves. According to junior Pamela Carta, “the atmosphere was iconic, and students were having a great time dancing to the songs.” The event was also a great opportunity for students to make new friends and connect with others who shared their love of music and dancing.
