CIF Lunar Year

John Brown University through the Council for International Friendship (CIF) celebrated the Lunar New Year last Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. This celebration comes originally from China. It is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year in the lunisolar calendar. The celebration was planned, assembled, and executed by the CIF team members. Their objective was to introduce to students this celebration by having various food, activities, and music that commemorate this annual festival. The representative foods offered to the students were dumplings and mooncakes, and the activities they offered were calligraphy and lantern making.
