Students gathered for a night of art and relaxation during the Bob Ross painting night, hosted by Student Events and Activities on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Walker Student Center. Students kicked off the semester creatively while enjoying snacks and great company.
Using materials and supplies provided by SEA, attendees followed along with two Bob Ross tutorials, creating their own interpretations of serene forest scenes and tranquil mountain landscapes. Each painting reflected the individual styles of the students, highlighting the creativity within the room.
Junior Joyce Brown shared her thoughts on the experience. “I liked that they showed two videos, and each person interpreted the paintings in their own way. Everyone was so focused,” Brown said. “No two paintings were alike, even though we were all following the same reference video. The room was packed, and it was exciting to see so many people enjoying themselves.”
Junior Angel Galvan also enjoyed the evening. “I really liked it, and the snacks were great,” Galvan said. However, he suggested a small improvement: “The drinks could’ve had more variety, but the ambiance was great, and it was a lot of fun overall.”
The atmosphere was vibrant and creative, with students fully immersed in their work while connecting with both friends and new faces. The event’s relaxed environment made it an ideal way to take a break from the demands of the new semester.
Bob Ross Painting Night proved to be a success, with attendees praising its fun and inviting nature. SEA continues to provide opportunities for students to unwind, bond and express themselves creatively, and this event was no exception.
