From Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and heritage from El Salvador, senior Diego Flores is close to completing his major in Criminal Justice but also contributes to important causes including the Manna Center in Siloam Springs, the committee of men’s retreat and the future mission trip to Chicago organized by the University.

Profile: Maddie Altman, graduate basketball star

Maddie Altman, graduate student, grad assistant and guard basketball player, has demonstrated her talents and skills on and off the John Brown University basketball team. From Denver, Colorado, Altman was able to complete four majors while scoring points in the JBU team these past few years. Playing basketball has been a big part of her life and she has undoubtedly demonstrated her commitment to both her academic life and her athletic life.

STUDENTS ENJOY PUMPKIN PAINTING AND MORE AT SEA’S FALL FESTIVAL

Fall season arrived, bringing happiness and excitement for pumpkins and orange-colored leaves among John Brown students. Students Events and Activities (SEA) hosted the annual Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 21, on the University’s quad to celebrate the arrival of this autumn weather. The event included live music, pumpkin painting, flag football, and line dancing.

JBU Welcomes Back Alumni for Homecoming Weekend

John Brown University welcomed back alumni for its Homecoming celebration with a weekend full of enjoyable activities and events on campus from Friday, Oct. 7 through Saturday, Oct. 8. Members of the Siloam Springs community and current students also participated in homecoming festivities. The activities for this Homecoming weekend included Alumni gatherings, the 5K Glow run, soccer and volleyball matches, and the theatre department’s production of “Murder on the Orient Express.”

New Walton Scholarship Director Starts at John Brown University

The Walton International Scholarship program is celebrating this year the entrance of a new director, Seth Sears, a friendly new member of the “Walton family.” Sears, born and raised in Kansas City, grew up surrounded by excellent examples of service and altruism thanks to his parents. He has shared with us his excitement about this new opportunity.
