On Thursday, April 11 the senior art students at John Brown University hosted a portfolio exhibit in Simmons Hall. This annual event gave soon-to-be graduates the opportunity to showcase their most career-defining artworks and prepare for the next chapter in their lives.
Christians around the world commemorated Holy Week, marking the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The week is a heart-rending reminder of God’s immense faithfulness and sacrificial love for humanity. The events leading up to Holy Week reveal the depth of God’s devotion to His people. The clearest action He did for us, considering he spoke in parables was dying for us. However, God’s fidelity is not confined to just this celebratory period, but rather extends eternally throughout all seasons and circumstances.
Throughout history and across cultures, women have demonstrated an unparalleled strength, resilience and spirit that has moved societies forward. From leading revolutions, to breaking long standing barriers to success, women have surpassed expectations and challenges to secure a rightful place in shaping the world.
We fall in love with the idea of being in love and that reflects the innate desire that humans have for connection, intimacy, and companionship. This resides within every human heart; it encapsulates that in the end, all we want is to be embraced and understood by another soul. Who would’ve thought that a chubby cherub also known as Cupid could cause such a whirlwind of emotions and chaos with just a flick of his tiny bow?
The exhibition “Gingers” presented at the Windgate Gallery, Art West Building at John Brown University, takes its name from the term commonly associated with individuals who have red hair, delving into a unique exploration of identity, challenging societal norms and perceptions. Kieran Dodds, a renowned photographer known for his distinctive style and thoughtful compositions, has gained acclaim for his ability to capture the essence of his subjects.
The Sabbath day has been celebrated since the time of Moses and has been considered a holy day ever since. It is considered an ancient and sacred tradition held on the seventh day. The Sabbath celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. It enables us as humans to appreciate the creation of man and be grateful for what God has done for us every day.
Jade Choppola joined the Golden Eagles family and is now a Global Environment of Business professor and the Enactus advisor. Choppola was born and raised in Mountain View, Arkansas. She shared that her background consists of Native American, Okinawan, and Mongolian roots.
