On Saturday, Sept. 17, Siloam Springs celebrated with their own Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Chatauqua Amphitheatre in Memorial Park downtown. Live music, mariachis, hispanic food trucks and folkloric dancers filled the festival. Families and several JBU students came to this event to enjoy the hispanic heritage celebration.
Music, roller skating, and Hollywood costumes were just a few things that many John Brown University students enjoyed at “Late Skate” Sept. 16. Student Events & Activities (SEA) team hosted the annual Late Skate at Roller City, Springdale.
Last spring, before graduating from the class of 2022, Brady Collard, Colby Richardson, Kevin Gamboa, and Abigail Tzunún created the Rover Mobile Tree Stands and Hunting Equipment project where they won first place in the small business division at the 2022 Arkansas Governor’s Cup. After a lot of support and encouragement from family, faculty, and friends; Collard and Richardson decided to bring this school project to something much bigger, and founded the Rover Hunting Equipment company. This fall, they were one of eight startups selected for the University of Arkansas Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP) to support with training, mentoring and financial funding.
